Perma-Con® Modular Containment/Confinement Structures

Perma-Con® Modular Panel Containment structures are provided exclusively by Radiation Protection Systems, Inc. These containment structures are typically used for radiological/hazardous contamination containment enclosures and are designed to be assembled inside a host facility that offers weather protection and climatic conditioning.

Perma-Con® structures are pre-engineered, prefabricated buildings, typically designed for the containment and isolation of operations such as:

TRU Waste Repackaging-TRU Waste Examination for WIPP WAC- Waste Processing, Packaging and Decontamination of High Level Components Such as Fuel Transfer Vessels.

The PermaCon structure is assembled from modular panel components that include:

Large Equipment Rollup Doors
Personnel Doors
Air Locks for Personnel and Material
Material Transfer Ports
Roof openings for Large Equipment
Spill Control Curbing Arrangements
Drip Pan Floors for Containment
Bridge/Monorail Cranes

Fire Protection and Suppressions systems
Modular Electrical Installations
Integral Variable Speed HEPA Units for
Maintaining Negative Pressure
Exterior Lighting Modules
Integral HVAC Systems
Material Handling Equipment such as jib cranes
Special Radiation Shielding

Structures are designed to meet IBC and site specific seismic requirements. The enclosure may be multi-room, or a single large room, with clear width spans of up to 32 feet, and essentially any length. Perma-Con® can be designed and built to meet seismic requirements, free-spans up to 34 feet, and heights to 34 feet and any lengths. Call us and we will design a modular panel system to meet your requirements.

Perma-Con® is a durable, versatile, fast erecting radiological containment solution that has been in use at all Department of Energy Weapons complex sites for over 25 years. Commercial applications have been used since the TMI recovery in 1979.
